Digital Junkanoo is a design and curatorial studio that hosts a virtual and in-person community dedicated to the carnival arts, performance studies, and the way ceremonies of the African diaspora travel and are reinvented across the world.

Based in New York City, we host artists-in-residence from regions of the world severely impacted by climate crisis. Collaborators work on initiatives that foster the celebration of carnival cultures across the world. There is an emphasis in Digital Junkanoo on visual art and sonic art. Our Metropolitan Ecologies speaker series is a forum for establishing community-engaged initiatives through art towards climate repair and strategies for survival, especially in the Caribbean and Americas.
